6:38pm: Another day...
Hey people!
I'm feeling a bit better today, so got to go back to work tomorrow. Because of feeling better I look with kinder eye at Slough, but suspect it will only last until tomorrow. Oh well...c'est la vie! Didn't do much today - did some studying and some reading and that's about it - blessed be quiet unhuried days! Ah what a shame they're so scarce.
So anyway, until later!

12:12am: ..bad bad girl!
Uh, oh, I know..bad bad girl! I haven't been posting on my LJ. But I'm back to living and the LJ now. Grovelling apologies to everyone for not being in touch...grovel grovel grovel :) So we've Alienorade staying with us, which is really nice. Although she's left us for a few days to go off gallivanting around the Scotish Highlands. Hope she has good weather for it, not too much rain, thought a few showers here and there are necessary 'cause it's the highlands after all. TEEC & Ormswyn - just to remind you guys that da TLEEP loves you! Well, I'm off to bed now, it's past midnight and I may turn into a pumpkin, which would be rather unfortunate & cause problems with typing. So...I WILL BE BACK (...you just have to imagine the strange accent that goes with that sentence..) :-) Well, until later.

1:00pm: Back home, I mean this home from the other home...obviously
Heeeey! I'm back to the UK home from the ohter, the Bohemian, home :-) Loads of snow there, I'm lucky I got back as planned at all - snow, blizzards, closed airport, cancelled flights and a stand-by ticket - not a good combination, noo! I'll write about the trip later, when I unpack, have a snooze (jetlag from Prague - a terrible thing, one hour difference just gets you!), etc. How is that possible - I leave snowed in Bohemia, get back to England and it's snowing here as well?!

9:36am:
Weheee...off to Bohemia today! Setting off in half an hour, suitcase full of the warmest clothes, me - exhausted as I slept only about three four hours - not enough for people like me, oh well will just have to snooze on the plane. So guys, take care and I'll be back around the 21st of Feb. PS: Seems like Rent-A-Don sleeping space is solved - have been told there's a space in the 'loud' crash area - oh well, means we'll be forced to party hard...twist my arm.

I switched live journals when your back was turned. Ha-ha, you fool. You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia", but only slightly less well known is this:"Never go in against a Bohemian, when *livejournal* is on the line.".Hahahahah...ahh..hh.."

7:35pm:
A lazy Saturday, not much to report about today. Feeling pretty tired as I didn't get to bed until 2am last night/morning. We had a great fun last night at Thorngrove's party! The food was excellent as always, the company great and merry, general feeling of well-being all around, we need to do this more often! We're comtemplating to find B&B for the Rent-A-Don, afterall, as we really want to be there for the event... Also got my flight ticket to Bohemia today, will attempt to get a flight on Monday (all flights looking good so far). Talked to my family and had reports of more snow and subzero temperatures...oh well, will pack all my 'arctic' gear then.

7:47pm: Arnamara household, SCA & fighting
So after months and months, I am finally recovering from the SCA fatigue and ready to start playing again...we'll be heading to Lincoln for Rent-A-Don - my first event after our stepping down in the summer last year and I have just realised I am quite looking forward to it. Those who prophesised that the general tiredness and fed-upness with certain aspects of the game shall pass and the good aspects will weight out the bad ones were correct yet again. I miss my SCA friends, I miss the fun of socialising and the general silliness & light heartedness and the being away from the mundanities of the everyday life...and yeah I do also miss the pretty dresses and accessories (blame Lucrezia specifically on the accessories part!). And I have to own up to the fact that I do miss the fighting (that is the fighting on the field, you know the one when you put your armour on and hit your friends, let them hit you and you have a great time bashing on each other), and all the battle boasting and the general macho-ism regarding "those great multicoloured bruises" - simply the whole camaraderie as well as the adrenalin rush…fun fun fun. I've started to practice, no pressure, no big goals, just hitting the pel a couple of times a week for ten fifteen minutes, carefully avoiding the 'Tanya's bane' = getting frustrated with slow progress. Keeping my mind relaxed is the name of the game. Yeah, I must say I suspect I am getting older and wiser, don't you think? (well, actually, do not answer that one please) I promised to myself I shall not hit the field, not even the practice field, until I have a set of armour that is perfect for my physique - light, snug, and as little restrictive as possible. At the moment all I do is hit the pel, which is painted with coloured lines about 10cm apart - yes I'm going for precision here, just practicing basic shots right and left-handed nothing more...for the time being. I would like to resurrect the fighting household of ArnaMara, get some activity going. I'll need to grovel with Thorngrove (again :) and see if she would be willing to resurrect the ArnaMara website. I do want to post some articles on fighting, history & armour patterns, and get some pics (Warbands' ones of Val's Angels really ought to go there, as well as pics of all of us that are part of it). I'll also keep a 'Fighting Journal'. I know it's all very ambitious but I have to ride the wave of enthusiasm and motivation while it’s here. I'm also hoping to finally realise the idea of 'theatrical shows' at SCA events, some with Stage&Screen combat stuff - I still want to do an SCA spoof on the famous sword choreography/scene from The Princess Bride! Well, I’ll just have to get my ass in gear and organise regular training, meetings and rope people into it. I shall see what can be done when I come back from the Bohemian trip.

2:09pm: Away to the frontiers i.e...to the Bohemian Arctic Circle...
Not much happening today. All our technology is working happily purring away, I'm apprehensive... Anyways, not much to report - just waded through tons of paperwork and Tax return (oh, how passionately I hate this stuff!), while Elffin is happily shooting away the Imperial & Rebel ships with a content grin on his face (always one for equality...shoot 'em all down, no discrimination 'ere!). I'll have to go out to the Post Office soon but it's cold and grey and I'm feeling lazy so I'm putting it off as long as I can. I'll have to do lots of studying today as next week I'm going to visit my family back in good old Bohemia. Apparently it's a real 'Siberia' there, right now - snow, blizzards and all. Cannot wait to see Prague with snow falling on her cobbled streets with the Hradcana castle as a backdrop, call me a romantic (yeah, I have forgotten that freezing cold that grinds your bones to dust and drops your ears off, and all I'm left with is this gorgeous romantic visual of white snowy landscapes...yeah, right!) I'll be taking V. & M. with me to visit my family, to show them Prague and the Wild wild East - i.e. the rural eastern part of Bohemia on the barbarian frontier - the border with Moravia. V. is very happy about the snow, blizzards and sub-zero temperatures, because he did visit Siberia (still during the good old times of the Soviet Union) and is obviously missing it (some people just have no survival instinct..). He also reckons it's good for character building and is keen for M. to experience "some proper cold" as he puts it. Fine, M. and myself will stay indoors by the fire, drinking mulled wine and eating hearty Bohemian cuisine and let V. run around in the snow exulting about the greatness of ice, endless snow fields, howling blizzards, hungry wolves, and loss of ears and other exremities and some such... ...I am sure M. will agree with me on this. Well, I better go to the Post Office now... so, until later!

9:41pm: ...I cannot believe this...
Ok ok, so I'm crap at actually writing into my live journal! My excuse is pretty good - my live journal was abducted by alliens!!! Right, I mean wrong, sorry about this - just slipped out...so again - my excuse is: I forgot the password and I own up to it! I tried and tried, any password any combinations of words that I could think of for quite a few days and...nothing! I thought it was me, but now I know - it's that thing TECHNOLOGY as they call it. Nothing to do with me, apart maybe from the fact that the 'technology thingymagic' is discriminating against me (I really ought to take this up as a human and Bohemian ethnic minority, Technology should not discriminate against humans, AND Bohemians! So very non-PC if I may say so). Ok so take this, after trying for a while to access the 'tatantanya' account (btw I also blame Thorngrove here 'cause when setting this up she misspelled my email address name - instead of 'tatanatanya' she made it into 'tatantanya' and so the password couldn't be mailed to me...you see, moi I'm completely innocent in all this!...hmm, now that I've thought of that - Thorngrove bein' a professional technical writer and all - maybe there was more to it than a simple spelling mistake,hmm...what, suspicious me?!) So anyways, in desperation I decided to set-up a new account with a correctly spelled 'tatanatanya' and with a password I could remember. This all I did and then just for the heck of it I tried this particular password on my old 'tatantanya' i.e. this account AGAIN and lo’ and behold it worked!!! ...wait! Do not laugh, I did try this password on this account before, quite a few times and it didn't work then! You see, this proves me right - it is the Technology and there is a Virtual Tech Conspiration! Beware! ...it may be the Matrix!...or the Imperials!...Thorngrove?...or the Rebels...or Elffin!...or/and the Vogons!
